Absence d’ascenseur
Le bâtiment a été construit en 1863 et ne contient aucun ascenseur. Les chambres du 2e, 3e et 4e étage ne sont accessibles que par des escaliers.

Very centrally located in Old Port, Montreal. A bit hard to find, a small entrance through an upscale jewelry store. Nice little room, but no view or light out of high, heavily draped windows on first floor. Very clean and new. A bit much communication – I must have received well over 25 texts, emails, notes etc from host but the communication felt automated. We would return to this facility, no complaints.

I have the most amazing stay at the Arcadia Boutique Hotel.
Louis was very responsive and offered solutions when I needed early or late check-in. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and well air conditioned.
It is in the centre of the vieux-port, walkable and close to lots of restaurants and attractions. Yet I was able to sleep soundly as the room is very well insulated from the outside noise.
The staff was also kind and very helpful, giving me lots of recommendations.
My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer. I guess that means I will have to come back!

Negative: Je dois retirer des points car 1) pas de service en français 2) le code de la porte ne fonctionnait pas 3) le code de la porte du bâtiment ne fonctionnait pas et sous la pluie, c’était inacceptable pour un hôtel de ce prix.

Positive: Amazing staff, shout out to Jimena and Benjamin. They were very thoughtful and respectful. Jimena was really great on giving me tips about restaurants, bars and other recommendations. My apartment was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious and clean! I will definitely go back to Arcadia when I am in Montreal again!! Totally recommend it.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and had an amazing experience! Louis was extremely responsive and very helpful. We arrived a few hours before check-in and they were able to store our luggage for us while we explored the area. The place is embedded in downtown Montreal with lots to do nearby. I would highly recommend booking with Louis!

ouis was a responsive and accommodating host. The place was as described, clean, and comfortable, which made the stay smooth and stress-free. Check-in and communication were straightforward, and any questions were addressed promptly. Overall, a solid experience, and I would consider staying here again.
Was perfect for a one night stay
Was perfect for a one night stay. Owner was extremely responsive, I made the mistake of putting the wrong code in the room door which was my own fault, but was responded to within minutes.
Location is great, clean place overall (I gave 4 stars just because I’m a neat freak and washroom could have spot cleaned a bit better).
The only downside I experienced was how the noise travels from upstairs and the hallway. This did not deduct points for me though as that is not on the owner, it’s just how it be. Thankful the people above us went to bed around the same time, but could see that being a problem pending the neighbours at the time.
Overall I feel given the location the price was reasonable, but if it continues to climb in price as everything in this world does, it might not be as worth it in the future, but those are all hypotheticals.

We had a great stay here. The hosts were incredibly kind and very responsive throughout, which made everything easy and comfortable. The location is excellent (right in Old Montreal near the port) with lots to see and do nearby. I’d happily come back and stay here again.

The place was fantastic. Great location in Old Montreal. Close to many bars, restaurants, museums, and public transit. The place was clean and easy to access. The communication with the host was clear and responsive.
This is an absolute gem in the Old Port
This is an absolute gem in the Old Port! It is centrally located, very walkable, and super convenient if you’re in search of things to do. Louis was very communicative, responsive, and helpful throughout our entire stay. Our room was ready early, which was perfect! The room was extremely clean, and updated. It is smaller, but also all the space you need. We also opted in to the parking which is definitely worth it. The price was very fair, and the location was super convenient for coming and leaving. We visit Montreal often and will most definitely be back to Arcadia Hotel!! 🙂

The place was really clean and felt personal despite the self-check in (which I prefer). Really nice small touches like a nice coffee machine, robes and slippers, Netflix and music playing when we checked in.

Positive: Chambre confortable avec un équipement haut de gamme et très bien située par rapport aux principaux sites à visiter à Montréal. L'accueil dans la boutique fut rassurant.
Negative: Les faux frais liés à l'enregistrement. Sur booking la question de la caution et des pièces à enregistrer sur une page annexe liée au propriétaire n'étaient pas clairement précisée. Personnellement je n'aime pas fournir mes données et documents à des inconnus en ligne. Heureusement la personne a la boutique a pu faire le lien. Idem quand on arrive de l'étranger on peut avoir des soucis de connexion internet qui peuvent gêner l'enregistrement. Or sans celui ci pas de code donc pas de chambre... alors que celle ci est réglée.

Accommodating, cosy but room for improvement
Positive: The room was welcoming, clean and comfortable. Tge location was central and convenient. The use if access code allowed for convenient access.
Negative: I was assigned a room on the ground floor, and the windows faced a service alley that service trucks used early in the morning (6am).
Entering the hotel lobby from a snowy street did not allow enough space to clean the boots off snow and the small mat inside the room was not large enough to allow me to keep the room dry.
It will be advised to replace or find a different solution especially in the winter.
Louis and his staff were great
Louis and his staff were great. The location, the service were excellent. He was very responsive. He let us store our bags the whole day after and even let us use hotel umbrellas for the whole day. Would 100% come back. Cheers

Positive: Communication is hotel was excellent. There is no front desk per se but you are given door code and room code before you arrive. They are prompt at answering any request. They will store luggage for you. Cleaning staff as lovely and room was extremely clean. Location could not be better. I would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing in many different ways
Disappointing in many different ways.
Positive: Location and staff (when they were there).
Negative: I booked the hotel not realizing there was no full-time receptionist. This was a problem because of various issues with the room. I also booked thinking that, for $300, we might get a room overlooking the port. Instead we got a ground floor room with a view of a back alley. The curtain didn’t close completely so people walking outside could look into our room. This is the sort of situation you expect with a one-star hotel, not an expensive “boutique” hotel. (I’m a travel writer and have stayed in all kinds of lodgings all over the world; generally I’m pretty tolerant of eccentricities but not when I’m paying $300 a night.) Heading out for dinner, we had no idea how to lock the door; luckily the woman from the jewelry shop was still around and she showed us how to do it. Coming back from dinner, I turned on the TV and was unable to find any local channels. One of the pleasures of travel - and not just for travel writers - is experiencing the local culture and television is one of the ways travelers do that. I found half a dozen channels showing American Westerns but not one channel with Quebecois movies, entertainment or even news. It was, in short, a very frustrating way to spend our last night in Quebec.

Louis’ place was very centrally located in a buzzing part of the city. At night the city below was alive but the room was comfortable and quiet. Louis gave us very detailed check-in instructions, which was much appreciated! The room was nicely designed and bright and the slippers provided in the bathroom were a nice touch. Would consider staying here again.

This is an awesome boutique hotel in the heart of Old Montreal. It is a quick walk to many touristic sights, restaurants and bars. I highly recommend staying here if you want to be in the centre of it all. Clean room with great shower/bathroom. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because we were on the main floor and could hear people loudly in the lobby and hallway. All in all, it was a great place to stay.

Hätte ich vorab die Möglichkeit gehabt, ein Zimmer in einer oberen Etage auszuwählen, wäre ich auch bereit gewesen, ein höheren Betrag zu zahlen. Zimmer entsprach somit nicht den Fotos der Website. Lage, Ausstattung , Sauberkeit alles war top!

Positive: Très bon emplacement, quartier animé avec de nombreux très bons restaurants et pub à proximité. Hôtel moderne, facile à trouver grâce aux indications par e-mail. Literie de qualité et chambre bien équipée. Des parapluies à disposition. Un petit cadeau à l’arrivée.
Negative: Particulièrement bruyant ! Nous nous y attendions vu les commentaires précédents donc nous avions prévu des boules quies : indispensables. Murs mal isolés, on entend toute la rue : discussions, rires, musique, circulation… en plus notre chambre donnait sur un immeuble en construction dont les ouvriers commençaient très tôt le matin. Les camions poubelle passent également très tôt et sont très bruyants. Si vous êtes sensible au bruit passez votre chemin.

Positive: Location is fantastic for exploring old Montreal but in the complete chaos of construction. Our view was dumpsters and construction crew.
Negative: The construction around it. I know it can’t be helped but our room was on the back facing the alley with a view of the dumpster and construction crew. No way to sleep past 7am.

Excellent two day stay
Excellent two day stay. Historic looking, newly renovated building on Rue de la Commune facing river and parks. Great location in old town. Room was pristine and newly renovated, modern feel, high ceilings. Unit windows face rear of the building. Instructions easy, and friendly staff working on premises. Thanks Louis for the nice stay!

This was a perfect place for us to stay while visiting Old Montreal. Walking distance to everything in the Old Port, clean and private, and Louis was a great host.
We asked for a slightly early check-in and Louis accommodated. We had a small issue with the outside door code but is was resolved right away. We'd definitely stay here the next time we are on Montreal.

Positive: I loved the location, the charming boutique atmosphere, and the thoughtful extras like an umbrella in the lobby, a complimentary gift, and the robe and slippers provided for our stay.
Negative: The hotel should have informed us about the construction. I requested a water view, but instead, it felt like I was penalized for my request by being given the worst possible room, overlooking noisy construction with no natural light. I booked this hotel over a month ago. I added a photo of our view.

Better than the photo the host uploaded, and it’s small place but you won’t feel it’s small at all because it has a high ceiling. super clean, enough amenities, and perfect for us without car. Our room was in 1st floor, which was great for my mom. My mom was so happy about this place the most. 100% I am willing to come back with my family or my boyfriend.

I had a great stay at the Arcadia
I had a great stay at the Arcadia. The room I stayed in was the perfect fit for what I was looking for. There was a slight hiccup at the beginning about daily cleaning, but got solved right away. Louis is super responsive, so any difficulty that may arise he will answer right away. Overall, everything worked out quite well.

Frequebt traveller to Montreal, and ca. confidently say this was an excellent 10/10 stay, while a little tinier than expected, for where you are it can't get better and there is so much to do, that the room barely matters! Lovely location, host, and trio would happily reccomend to anyone to book this place

Great room - simply for a few nights stay in Montreal. Very clean with no issues. Also a fantastic location with lots to do in the surrounding areas.

Aside from a minor hiccup at check-in (which was taken care of immediately) our stay was wonderful. The linens were top notch! The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was big and brightly lit. Couldn’t have asked for a better location, we were able to walk everywhere!
The only minor inconvenience was the construction happening around the location, which got started pretty early in the morning. They work pretty much right outside of the window. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs and you should be fine. I’m also assuming the construction is temporary.
All around I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely stay in Old Montreal. It surpassed expectations.

Louis’ place was great and as described
Louis’ place was great and as described. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious and tastefully decorated, and the building is in a perfect spot right in front of the quays and the water in the old Montreal. Lots of restaurants and things to do just around the corner. The staff was also very helpful when we arrived and before leaving with any questions or concerns we had. I highly recommend and will be back.

Overall a good deal and a good stay. Only complaint is that the fire alarm went off at 7am but that was completely out of the hosts control. Montreal fire was also very quick to respond!
